Library Resources

Located in the main building in Via Bartolo 16, the Umbra Library offers students access to books, journals, newspapers, and magazines covering a wide range of subjects. The library collection includes over 2000 selected holdings, as well as a number of feature films and documentaries on DVD and VHS. New materials are added regularly for new course offerings.

At the Umbra Institute, students also have access to hundreds of online databases offering full text and abstracts of articles from thousands of newspapers, magazines, and scholarly publications including popular resources such a JSTOR, Ebsco, FirstSearch, Wilsons, Lexus Nexus, and more.

Beyond the extensive Umbra resources, students have access to a number of Perugia libraries nearby which maintain large historical collections in Italian and English. Umbra students are welcome to utilize the library as a quiet place to work and study, research, and in some cases, borrow books.

They include:

Biblioteca Augusta del Comune di Perugia,

Biblioteca dell’Università per Stranieri di Perugia,

Biblioteca Uguccione Ranieri di Sorbello,

Biblioteca Umanistica

and 11 other libraries at the various departments of the Universita’ degli Studi di Perugia.
