Credentials
BA from Stetson University in 1998, with a major in Studio Arts in Photography and Ceramics, and a minor in French; MFA from Florida State University in 2001 with an emphasis on Photography, Video, Performance and Installation Art. Resident in Italy since 2001. I try to spend summers practicing what I preach… traveling with my camera to China, Africa, India…etc.
Teaching Philosophy
It’s a two way street: my goal is to encourage a hands-on, open learning environment, with dialogue and discussion. I always tell my students, “It’s my job to teach you to the best of my ability; it’s your job to tell me if there is something you don’t understand.”
Favorite Teaching Moments
When all my students bought a 35mm Single Lens Reflex Camera! But above all when my students show me photographs that I wish I had taken.
