Art Shows — The Umbra Institute holds an art show each session — one in the spring, one in the summer, and another in the fall — to showcase the work done by the students in Photography, Drawing, Fresco, and Pastel.

TANDEM Language Exchange — Pictures of the Umbra Institute’s TANDEM Language Exchange, with provides Umbra students the opportunity to improve their spoken Italian through no-pressure conversation in a relaxed atmosphere.

Umbra Excursions to Naples, Capri, and Pompeii – One of Umbra’s optional trips is an excursion to Naples, called by many the most truly Italian city in Italy; Capri, the gorgeous island known as a hangout of the rich and famous; and the legendary Pompeii, the ancient ruins in which you can still see graffiti, pots, and other artifacts.
Umbra Excursion to Sicily — A 2006 weekend that Umbra students spent under the Sicilian sun.
The Culture of Wine — Wine plays an important role in the lifeblood of Italian culture. Students have toured local vineyards, sampled different varieties, learned about the characteristics of wine, and some have even bottled their own vintage.
