Transcripts and Transferable Credits

As a prospective student, you’ll want to ensure that the courses you take while studying abroad will count for credit at your home institution. The Umbra Institute has a consistent record of providing high-quality academic courses which are granted credit at most US institutions.     • Firstly, as a student enrolling through the Arcadia University College for Global Studies, you will receive an Arcadia University transcript. Arcadia University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and its transcripts are consistent with the credit requirements of most American colleges and universities.
    • Secondly, in the event that your school requires additional information for accreditation purposes, Umbra makes petitioning for course credit easy. All Umbra courses have syllabi for review by your home institution. These syllabi document in detail the course description, instructor, material covered, text used, grading criteria, and other pertinent curricular information. Contact us if you require a syllabus for credit approval. Furthermore, all Umbra faculty credentials are available for review by your home school advisor.
    • Thirdly, with over ten years of experience and having hosted over 3000 students, chances are a student from your home institution has probably studied at Umbra in the past. Our programs have been accepted by nearly every college and university countrywide, thus paving the way for you and your quest for credit.
    • Fourthly, all Umbra applicants are provided with a course selection form to be signed by your study abroad or faculty advisor, thus approving your course selections. This form will give your advisor the opportunity to indicate which courses will count for transfer credit, as well as which courses will satisfy graduation and/or other curricular requirements. That way, all credit issues are resolved long before you arrive in Italy.

Institutions that have direct affiliation agreements with Umbra will receive an Umbra Institute transcript to report courses, grades, and credits. If you’re a student at one of these institutions, great news! You have already been approved to study with us and receive credit!
