Professor Hoch is passionate about the History of Art, in all its forms. She has an extensive background in teaching as a visiting professor at NYU in Florence, an adjunct professor at NYU in Florence, and a Senior Lecturer at the Cambridge University and the University of California at Berkeley Study Abroad Program in Florence. Professor Hoch has also taught extensively at The British Institute of Florence, Florida State University Center in Florence, and the University of Georgia Study Abroad Program in Cortona.
Professor Hoch strives to help students learn to recognize masterpieces and analyse their stylistic and innovative qualities in order to understand cultural context and artistic commissions. Her overall goal is to enthusiastically develop students’ critical reasoning and analytical approach to Italian Renaissance art.
