Fink is a professor at Ohio Wesleyan University and Chair of Health & Human Kinetics, specializing in health behavior, food studies, and qualitative research. His work focuses on dietary health, food insecurity, and the cultural dimensions of food systems, with particular attention to community food environments and chronic disease.
He conducts research in Italy on Mediterranean dietary patterns and food traditions, including Italian sagre, and co-organizes the Perugia Food and Sustainability Conference while also teaching a summer course on the Mediterranean diet at the Umbra Institute. In the U.S., he directs a community program addressing food insecurity through nutrition and cooking education, and is involved in projects on food knowledge, health promotion, and cancer survivorship.
